*So Glad You Asked That*

A question was posed at one of the Facebook groups I belong to that sparked me into creating a whole post about it in this blog.

The question is -
Why should the city be responsible for the homeless?

*Gimme Shelter*

Here in Seattle folks have been brainstorming in how they can effectively help our city's desperate problem of homelessness. They were asking Facebook people to toss out their ideas but they had to be ideas with a rather strict budget in mind.

*Homeless 101*

- Where To Start -
If you're reading this I will assume you are doing so in an effort to understand the plight of the homeless and possibly even be looking for ways to help them.

That's a (very) good thing.
Educating yourself with the dynamics of homelessness will empower you to help on a level that you feel most comfortable and gratified with.

Please Read On -
there's probably a lot that you haven't stopped to consider when it comes to reaching out and helping the homeless.

*ABD - The cold road that leads straight to Homelessness*

In case you're wondering, I live in Seattle.
I've lived here all my life and really can't imagine living anywhere else.

My stats are typical/boring - white female, divorced, (married twice), Christian, (Praise Jesus!), soon-to-be 58 years old, (next month in late December 2014), high school grad, (some college), trade school grad, (Culinary Arts), mother of five, grandmother of 3 and I had my gall bladder removed this past summer.

Yeah, pretty mundane stuff.

*Homeless Woman*

This blog was created for one reason and that's to address the plight of the homeless.

I've been homeless and will probably be homeless again.
With my "hands-on experience" I feel I have a right to share what I've learned while being homeless and also feel I have a right to voice my opinions on what's being done and NOT being done in regard to constructive ways to get people off the streets and also come up with a solution to PREVENT homelessness.
